The founding team has extensive experience and academic background. All members has high degrees from prestigious institutions such as Arizona State University and Harvard. The team is well connected with industry through the Arizona Pavement and Materials Conference. We are all part of the Southwest Pavement Technology Consortium. These 2 organizations brings academia, government and private industry together. Additionally, one of our members has extensive experience in business as a former Director of Marketing at Dell and recently former president of plastic surgery clinics throughout the United States with a very successful career.

Dr. Medina is an Associate Research Professor in the Civil, Environmental and Sustainable Engineering Program at Arizona State University. With over 10 years of experience, Dr. Medina’s areas of expertise include pavement materials characterization and design, performance modeling, advanced laboratory testing of construction materials, use of sustainable pavement strategies, and pavement management systems.

Dr. Karam is a part-time Postdoctoral Researcher in the Civil, Environmental and Sustainable Engineering Program at Arizona State University. Her research is focused on Transportation, Pavement and Materials. She is currently studying the effects of different modifiers introduced into bituminous materials in terms of durability and performance.

Dr. Obando is a Fulbright Scholar. Former Postdoctoral Researcher and currently Technical Consultant in different research projects in the Civil, Environmental and Sustainable Engineering Program at Arizona State University. He has more than 15 years of professional experience. His research work is focused on pavement’s thermal properties and behavior, new material developments, life cycle assessment, sustainability, and pavement´s durability and performance evaluation.

Awarded as FORTA Professor. Professor in the School of Sustainable Engineering and the Built Environment. He has more than 30 years of experience in pavement research and management services. He is part of different Boards such as: Transportation Research Board Design and Construction Group Executive Board; National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying; and vice chair of the Technical Advisory Board of the Rubber Pavements Association. His areas of expertise include pavement materials design, thermal properties, advanced laboratory testing, field performance evaluation, and pavement management systems.

Michael Garrison is the founder and former President of Body Sculpt Intl., LLC, which owns and operates plastic surgery clinics throughout the United States under the trade name Sono Bello. Prior to founding Body Sculpt Intl., he spent 10 years in a variety of executive roles with Dell, Inc., a Fortune 500 leading global technology firm.. Mike holds a MBA degree from Harvard Business School, Cambridge, MA, and a B.S in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University in West Lafayette, IN.
